During the golden era of domestic holidays at the 60's and 70's most of the souveniers were produced locally. If you are a wannabe hipster those souveniers are the ones you should collect! This fab apron got company from fabulous alike fruit knives which I fixed into hunky dory condition with my mum's inherited cleaning recipe for stainless steel:
"Put stainless steel items in a kettle, add water and a spoonful of ordinary washing powder. Bring to boil. This easily boils over so don't leave the kettle even for a minute!
Rinse the items and wipe dry and clean with a tea towel. Works wonders every time!"
With these items I couldn't let the handles touch boiling water as otherwise the old plastic could have melted or got damaged.
From the same flea market I also found quite a romantic copper napkin holder presenting local sights. And a weird piece of art that I'm going to utilise further...
These items are ideal to be used as butter knives at breakfast on individual plates or for eating cheeses and desserts. I find these shiny stainless steel knives with the toffee coloured wood imitation handles really yammy!
